I grew up in a rural community and went to a one room school house until the 5th grade.  On my first year there the students were given drawing sheets with pictures for us to color.  My picture was of a dog.  I colored him BLUE.  

The teacher walked to my desk and held up my picture to the entire school (all 6 kids) and said, "Can you believe Riki doesn't even know what color to use for a dog?  Dogs are not BLUE!"  

I wasn't fazed by the attack.  

I see the world different than most.
